About Alabama Association of Child Care Agencies
-AACCA-

The Alabama Association of Child Care Agencies was organized in 1978 to become a voice for children who are at risk or victims of neglect, abuse, or abandonment. This diverse group of agencies, both for- and not-for-profit, provide an array of services including foster care, therapeutic foster care, group homes, residential treatment, crisis and acute care. These agencies contract with the Department of Human Resources, Department of Mental Health and Mental Retardation and the Department of Youth Services to provide needed services.

Members of AACCA and their respective Board serve on various committees around the state representing the specialized needs of children in care.

AACCA is working with consultants and legislators to obtain a system of fair-and-equitable rates, including legislation and negotiation with public administrations.
AACCA holds bi-annual retreats for members geared toward improving practices and services.
AACCA meets monthly to address issues affecting children and families.
AACCA conducts an annual meeting with a key note speaker to address the latest policies and practices in the field of child welfare.
